When it came to her kitchen, Leilani Lavin had always dreamed of a space where her three daughters could comfortably gather around an inviting island, making it the heart of their home. The existing kitchen was functional but fell short of her vision, with limited space and outdated finishes. Leilani longed for a bigger sink, ample storage, and a more social atmosphere for her family. Meanwhile, her husband David, had his own renovation vision – replacing the worn-out main window overlooking the backyard with a door, seamlessly connecting the kitchen to Leilani’s picturesque patio area. The Lavin’s contacted Lehigh Valley Renovations with a clear goal in mind: to transform their kitchen into the dream retreat space they had always envisioned. Committed to the family’s vision, Lehigh Valley Renovations was determined to make it a reality.
We kicked off the Lavin’s kitchen renovation project by tearing down the dividing wall between the dining room and kitchen, instantly expanding the space and enabling a new cabinetry layout. At the far end of the kitchen’s dining area, we designed custom built-ins, offering ample pantry storage to meet the family’s needs. To enhance functionality and style, we introduced a white farmhouse sink that added a touch of elegance to the prep and resurfaced the countertops with a sleek Silestone surface. For visual appeal, we added a carefully crafted subway tile for the backsplash complementing the updated space’s modernized aesthetic. Tying it all together, we luxury vinyl flooring provides a practical, low-maintenance solution ideal for a busy family.
In addition to the kitchen upgrades, we took on David’s vision of converting the preexisting kitchen bow window into a functional French door system connecting the indoor space to the inviting yard. This transformation allows a breath of fresh air and an abundance of natural light into the kitchen and created an ideal indoor-outdoor experience, perfect for entertaining guests. With the new French doors, the Lavins can easily step out outside, blurring the boundaries between the two spaces and allowing for a seamless flow between cooking, dining, and enjoying the outdoors. It’s the perfect setting for creating lasting memories with family and friends while enjoying the beauty of their backyard.
During the renovation project, the Lavins made an additional decision to revamp their downstairs half-bathroom, hoping to enhance its functionality for their family. We began the transformation by merging the preexisting powder room with the adjacent laundry area, resulting in a more expansive and versatile space. Keeping the laundry conveniently available in the bathroom itself, the expansion enabled us to introduce a full shower with sleek white subway wall tiles, a frameless glass door and brushed gold finishes. This clever redesign effectively converted the previously cramped half-bath into a fully functional 3 piece bathroom, offering convenience and comfort to the Lavins and guests alike.
The completion of the renovation elevated the Lavins’ home to new heights of design and functionality. With an expanded kitchen, the family now has a spacious and inviting area to gather and enjoy meals together. The addition of customized storage solutions ensures a clutter-free environment, while the overall open and modernized layout creates a captivating and welcoming atmosphere.
